What does the JSON to CSV converter do?
It converts a JSON array of objects into CSV, the format that Excel, Google Sheets and most databases use to import tabular data. Each object becomes a row and each key becomes a column. The header row includes every key found in any object, so objects with different keys still line up, and cells are left empty where a value is missing.
Values that contain commas, double quotes or line breaks are quoted and escaped as the CSV format requires, so the file opens correctly in spreadsheet apps. A single JSON object is converted into a CSV file with one row.
How do you convert JSON to CSV?
- Paste a JSON array of objects into the input editor.
- Check the CSV output on the right.
- Click Download to save it as output.csv, or Copy result to paste it into a spreadsheet.
Frequently asked questions
What JSON structure does the converter need?
An array of objects, such as [{"name": "Alice", "age": 30}, {"name": "Bob", "age": 25}]. Each object becomes one row.
How are nested objects handled?
Nested objects are flattened into dot-separated columns, so {"address": {"city": "Paris"}} becomes an address.city column. Arrays are written into a single cell as JSON.
What happens when objects have different keys?
Every key from every object becomes a column, in the order the keys first appear. Cells are left empty where an object doesn't have that key.
Is my data uploaded?
No. The CSV is generated in your browser and your data stays on your device.
